Malting

The success of the BAMBERGER MÄLZEREI is determined by pure varieties of quality barley from growing areas nearby, modern production plants and the high quality of our malt ranges

Some 50,000 metric tons per year can be handled at present. The total capacity given in the silo and loading area permits efficient processing of uniform batches. We can take in 150 metric tons of barley or wheat per hour. Six steeping tanks, each with the capacity of 45 metric tons, determine the first stage of production followed by six germination boxes, each with the capacity of 135 metric tons of barley.

Analytical data from production and the desired values for the grades of malt required by the customer can be optimised by a computer-supported system. Power and heat are supplied by our own combined heat-power station.
